Kendall's Doctor Appointment

This morning Kendall and I walked over to her one month checkup. Mike and I have been guessing how much weight she has gained because she is noticeably bigger, but we had no idea how much she actually gained. Kendall is now 10 pounds!!! I told you she was turning into a chunky monkey :) Almost a 2 and a half pound gain since the 29th. She has also grown an inch, now measuring 21.5 inches long. She is in perfect health and everything checked out wonderfully. We've gotten lucky with our appointments so far because she has been the model patient; wide awake, super happy and mellow. She was in such good spirits today that the doctor even got a smile out of her! We have to go back to get her shots the second week of August so I'm sure that appointment will not go quite as well...

Kendall's spiting up has been really diving us crazy so I asked the doctor about it. If it was just spit-up it wouldn't be that big of a deal, but the projectile/exorcist style vomiting is just too frequent to deal with! The doctor said that it sounds like she is getting too much milk (since she hasn't seemed to throw up after we've given her a bottle). I do let down pretty heavily so we are going to try nursing her for less time and breaking the suction since she either can't tell when she's full or she is getting so much milk quickly that it's too late before she realizes she is full. Wish us luck!!

Here are some random pictures of our cutie :)
Kendall is such a wiggle worm that we have officially removed all items from her crib other than the sheet saver. I always put her three quarters of the way up in her crib and I came in to this the other morning! She some how moved (along with the sheet saver) down to the bottom quarter of the crib!
Daddy sleeping but Kendall was wide awake :)
I love that peanut bib! Peanut for our peanut!
Hi everyone!
Kendall passed out on Nonnie's lap when Nonno and I got home from the Giants game (my first night out away from the baby). Doesn't she look like a frog while wearing her frog pjs? I love those but sadly, sniff sniff, that will be the last time she wears them. She's outgrown most of her newborn stuff as of this week and I swapped out her clothes to 0-3 months now :(
Gosh she is so cute!! My little cabbage patch kid!
Wondering, what is taking Daddy so long with Mommy's food??

Kaiser had a professional photographer stop by the room before we went home after Kendall's birth. I couldn't help but order some of the shots :)

Daddy's first day back to work

Mike went back to work yesterday so Kendall and I had our first real day on our own. Mike's gone out for a while and Kendall and I have gone out by ourselves, but not for a full day before. We had a bit of a rough night of sleeping (I'm assuming because she slept pretty much ALL day Sunday) so Kendall and I were both asleep on the couch when Mike left for work. After we woke from our little nap we had some Black and White book time (she LOVES this book - Thanks Aunt B!), a bunch of tummy time and play mat time and we went for a really long walk with Hanna bear. Mike came home for lunch and we were both very excited to see him. After he left Kendall let me put her in her crib for a nice long nap so I was able to catch up on some of the sleep I lost the night before. When I woke up, Mike was home! I didn't get to do a lot of the stuff I had planned on doing but I'm sure that is going to be a common thing. All in all it was a great mommy and baby day! Here is a link to a short video of Kendall loving her play mat time. Sorry I can't post it straight on here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNDrHCgQY1Y

I had book club last night and had to put Kendall in the super adorable outfit that Cindy, Andy and Sofia sent us :)

On a very happy note, Kendall slept beyond well last night! I love her staying awake more during the day! I can't complain much because all but maybe 3 nights she has slept 4 hour chunks but last night she slept for over 6 hours, went right back to sleep after I fed and changed her, then slept for another 5 hours!! I finally decided to just get her up this morning and when I went into her room she was wide awake in her crib, happy as a clam just staring up at her mobile or at her bumper. What a good girl!!!!
She loves holding her own pacifier in!
I finally broke down and let her have the pacifier. I'm still trying to not give it to her all the time but if she's screaming and we are stuck in the car, or if she is being really fussy and nothing else is helping, then she can have it. Brandi also mentioned that it could be helpful with her spitting up so we've tried to give it to her a few times right after feedings. We'll see how it goes...

Our "Meet Baby Rohrbach" Shower

Sunday my wonderful friends Karen and Vicky hosted a Meet Baby Rohrbach baby shower for us. Kendall has been awake a lot more these days but something about going to see people makes her sleep for hours on end. I'm still pretty sure she had a great time though :) The babies were passed around like hot potatoes (Alex, Emily, Olivia and Evan were all there as well) and I think everyone had a great time just hanging out and catching up. Thanks again girls for an awesome day!!!

Happy Hollow

We got great news that Anthony was finally home from Texas after almost 5 weeks! Even after driving for 2 days straight to get home from Texas he turned around and drove back to the Bay to meet his new niece. Mike, Kendall and I joined him, Gavin, Lexi, Nonni and Nonno at Happy Hollow for some family fun. The weather was perfect and we had a really great day. It was especially fun seeing Gavin go on rides and get excited over the animals. Kendall went on her first ride, a little dragon train, but of course was asleep :)
