I think we went through some kind of time warp this past year. Wasn't I just pregnant? It's really hard to believe that our little girl has turned one but at the same time, looking back over the past year, I remember every moment of her growth. What a smart, fun, silly, beautiful girl Kendall is turning into and it's still the beginning of her journey. We are the luckiest parents in the world!
Kendall has got the walking thing down pretty well but is still choosing to crawl for the most part. It doesn't surprise me too much because she always seems to learn something then stop doing it for a bit while she masters something else. This time it's her vocabulary. Kendall is saying hi (especially when on the phone - which is every object at this point), Dada, Momma (still only mostly when she is upset though), bye bye, up, Hanna and she mimics numerous other words and phrases. The past two days she's been mimicking I love you, which is pretty much the best thing ever :) We did an at home weigh in of her last weekend and we think she is around 21 pounds now. Although she did have the stomach flu for 4 days and she looks like she lost some weight. Her 1 year appointment isn't until next month so I'll update you after that with her real stats. We were so busy on her actual birthday that I forgot to take her 12 month pictures, and then she got sick, so here they are a week late. OH! And still NO teeth! Crazy right??

Our little munchkin - she still wasn't feeling well :(
These are some of Lexi's hand-me-downs that I'm in love with! They are a little big but that just means I get to put her in them longer :)
What a big girl!!
Her actual birthday fell on a Tuesday, which worked out great for me since I'm off on Tuesdays :) Kendall, Nonnie, Grammy and I decided to go to the Oakland zoo to celebrate. It was a beautiful day and we had a really nice time. After we got home Kendall, Mike and I headed to swim lessons (more on that later) then over to Cary and Lucas's house to share the birthday cake our friend Whitney made for Kendall. Cary's birthday was Friday so it was only fair we celebrate her birthday as well. No more cake for this little one for a while after last week!
Nonno came out to see the birthday girl and my new car (more on that later as well)
Love!!
Me and my 1 year old at the zoo
Kendall was all dressed up for a reason. That is the dress my mom and I both wore on our first birthdays. Maybe even Auntie Lex and Heather too. I'm going to dig up some pictures to post of all of us in it.
Kendall with her Grandmothers :)
Whoa! Do you see that too!?
I loved the little goat petting zoo they have! Kendall liked it too :)
I was trying to keep her from walking through poop!
Grammy teaching Kendall about the animals
Kendall loves playing in the back of my new car!
Kendall fought her nap the entire day. She fell asleep a minute before we hit the zoo and didn't fall back asleep until we got to Nonnie and Nonno's! We turned her back around by the way. The book for the car seat says to face them forward if they are over 20 pounds, the seat says backwards up to 40 pounds and the suggested age backwards is up until 2 years old - but follow what the car seat says. So confusing!!
Cary and Kendall cutting their birthday cake
So awesome! Whitney did an amazing job making this (and it was yummy too)!
Cake up the nose!
She was upset she didn't get the whole cake this time!
