Charlie's 6th Birthday

My goodness I adore this boy. Yes, I know how time works but I really can't believe our baby is now 6.  In some regards he still seems to small and "baby" like but I think that is just me trying to cling on to that. He is so incredibly smart and creative. The kid can look at something, take it apart in seconds and reassembled it back together perfectly. He kicks our butt's in memory more often than not and can remember every book he reads, or cheats for video games, after only one go around. He's extremely silly, extremely stubborn, and oh so loving. He is a mama's boy but he also loves spending time with his Daddy - especially when helping him with projects in the garage. He loves bugging his big sister but he also can't get enough of her.  His cousin Gavin is his idol, especially now that he's old enough to play Minecraft with him. He runs the second we try and stick a facetime device in his face (poor Grandparents!) but he NEVER STOPS TALKING when we are around. And I mean NEVER. At least when he can see us. We will walk out of the room and he stops but the second he catches one of us out of the corner of his eye the noise starts up again. I swear he's taller every morning when he wakes up but he's still our little feather weight. Since well checks are cancelled these days I don't have official stats, but I finally ordered a scale (ugh) and below are his numbers from the first day of school.  He's our amazing not so little boy and we are so lucky he is ours!!

Charlie at 6 years 2 months - 42 pounds (24%) and 3' 10.25" (52%)

Charlie at 5 - 37 pounds (25%) and 3' 9.75" (50%)

What he woke up to on the morning of 6!
Awful picture, but his floor was covered in balloons
Charlie wanted home made ice-cream milkshakes for his birthday dessert, so that is what him and Daddy made
Yearly Mickey photos
Charlie at 5
Nonnie and Nonno decided to come visit since we all missed each other A LOT and we all had been distancing. I was just as excited as the kids were! So Charlie actually got a legit birthday celebration with one set of his Grandparents and cousins/Aunt and Uncle.
Nonno jungle gym
Hot tub time for these skinny boys that are always cold
We assembled in our bedroom/music room so Kendall could preform a song she wrote for her brother. :) The kids were having fun with the hole in my closet door (which will someday have frosted glass in it)
She's so sweet!
Presents!!
Some of the family joined us via zoom to watch
New Black Panther Claws (in his words - FINALLY)
Target impulse buy strikes again!
Our lefty always swinging right
Brain Freeze with his milkshake
But that didn't stop him
He finished the day with cousin Minecraft

May Shelter in Place

May brought some higher spirits for us. Days seemed to go by quicker and we all looked forward to the end of school.  We began to SIP with my brother's family after coming to the conclusion that we were all staying home expect to go to the same exact grocery store. The kids NEEDED some physical time together and I think us adults needed it too.  We also tried to get my parents to just come up and live with us for a while but we settled with an end of the month visit of a few days instead.  We had multiple drive by birthday celebrations and a few driveway social distancing dates which lifted moods quite a bit. We clung onto hope that at very least our scheduled June camping trips would happen and the possibility of safely seeing more friends and family. Little did we know...

Happy Birthday Wyatt! We've been doing reserve birthday parades - where the birthday kid goes driving by their family and friends houses.
She occasionally will snuggle with me :)
Fun with some leftover "fireworks"
Graham cracker decorating
Making himself comfortable while I did my workout
Sleeping beauty took advantage to all the lazy days

Looking like such a teen with my sweatshirt on and being glued to her phone
This girl is already all about heels! Mini Me!
I went down to San Mateo to pack up our office since we were being relocated again.
I'm so in love with the table and bench Mike built us! It was too pretty for our old rug :) And we have since got a new light fixtures and chairs.
