Updates

Since I haven't really had any good news to write about I've been slacking a bit on this blog thing! In the past few weeks I've had my work computer completely crash and burn on me (it's back after 1.5 weeks of being worked on and still looks like my 8 years worth of email will be lost forever...), caught a horrible and sudden stomach flu that I wouldn't wish upon anyone and had a very traumatic house fire! Yup you read right - house fire. Around midnight last Monday we awoke to a stranger kicking down our front door yelling fire. Both our balconies were flaming so Mike had run downstairs to grab a hose for the main level balcony and our neighbors ran up our stairs and hosed off the upper balcony. Most of the fire was out by the time the firemen arrived. We are assuming a tiny little ember from our BBQ must have gotten loose and very slowly started a fire in the wall separating our balcony from the neighbors (since we BBQed at 6:30 and the fire didn't appear until midnight). We were very lucky and there was minimal damage - just damage to the balconies, but they are still structurally sound, the broken front door frame and a little bit of smoke. Now we are just dealing with who is responsible to pay for what (technically it's the Homeowners Association's responsibility) and not freaking out every time we hear a noise in the middle of the night. Our front door was mostly fixed, even though we are still shooting for a complete replacement, so at least we feel safe in the house again. Scary!!!

Onto good news! Mike started his new job at Lexus and is really really happy. It's less than a mile from our house so he rides his bike most days and is able to come home for lunch. It's so great to see him relaxed and happy after he gets off work now! Yay for good work environments!

This weekend the Rohrbach women went to the Disney Family Museum in the city. It was amazing and I highly recommend going - just leave the kids at home! It's a lot of reading and not very kid friendly. I learned a ton of new information about Walt Disney's life and projects. He really was an amazing man! Of course now I have the Disneyland itch...
The one picture I got before cameras weren't allowed - that is the academy award for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs next to Stacy! See the 7 little statues? So cute!
After I got home and Mike got off work we went to a friends house for a March Madness Beer Bracket party! Everyone brought a case of beer and we did head to head blind taste tests until we ended up with a winner. I think we had 16 beers! Heather and I were the beer servers since we obviously can't drink :) It was a lot of fun and people were really getting into guessing what beer they were tasting. The best was the Budweiser vs. Coors round. People are so passionate about "how they can tell the difference" and how they "hate one or the other" and NO ONE can ever tell the difference in a blind test! I love it! I can't wait for next year when I can join in.

Me - 27.5 weeks, Heather 20 weeks :)
Evan and Emily are both 5 weeks old already, which is just crazy! I got to hang out with Emily on Saturday (no pictures sorry!) and I went to visit Evan on Sunday. It's amazing how much they change in such a short period of time. They make me even more excited to meet my little one!
So serious!
Happy!
I'm 28 weeks today - 7 months in pregnancy terms (even though I know that not all months have only 4 weeks...) Just remember, we are pregnant for 9 FULL months :) My doctors appointment went great. I'm right on track with everything and my glucose tests all came back perfect (gestational diabetes and anemia). Today was the first time I noticed my stomach being completely lopsided! I laid down so they dr could check me out and my right side was an inch or so higher than my left. So funny looking! Baby Rohrbach is VERY active and dances around all day/night which should make doing my kick counts very easy. It's even moving right now :) We are so so so excited but I'm really enjoying being pregnant so I'm trying not to rush through it in my head. I just take my book and go hang out in the baby's room as often as I can :)
I've had my dark line (linea nigra) under my belly button for at least a month but it's really starting to show above my belly button now too!

25 Weeks and Baby's Room

Tuesday I hit 25 weeks :) Only 15 more to go!! Here are a few belly pictures - sorry they aren't the best. I take them every week and it is really crazy how much of a difference I see week to week. 24 weeks I'm still kind of flat on the lower half of my belly and this week it's totally rounded out!
Yes family, that is a tattoo - you have my permission to rub it in my face if it looks all horrible and stretched out after the baby is born haha!
25 weeks above, 24 weeks below
I have no idea what I am going to do with my spare time until the baby shower. The room is basically done and ready for stuff and baby! Other than putting some organizational stuff into the closet, a few more mickey head decals on the walls and waiting until the baby comes to figure out if Mickey or Minnie will go right above the crib, we are done. I guess I'll just have to get some relaxing in...
We have a giant Minnie too, Mike just wanted to tape up Mickey for effect (and probably wishful thinking!)
Good thing I kept my Winnie the Pooh stuffed animal collection! We will not be needing many stuffed animals for this kid! however I am missing a Christopher Robin from my collection....

Snow!!!!

Ok, so we didn't get to experience the snow ourselves but my boss sent me these pictures of his ranch in Pescadero (on the coast, between Santa Cruz and Half Moon Bay) from the weekend. The weather reports went on and on about how San Francisco was going to get snow this past weekend and it was blue sky's as far as the eye could see! Even my boss was getting upset when the news said it was snowing in Pescadero until he looked out his window! SO neat! Snow at sea level!!!
