Logan is here!!!

Tammy was suppose to be induced today but Logan decided he wanted out on his own. Logan (waiting on a middle name) Dirksen was born 10/29/09 at 3:13pm at Peninsula Hospital in Burlingame. He weighed in at a healthy 7 pounds 9 oz and was 19.25 inches long. He is absolutely perfect!!! I'm actually really happy, as a selfish Aunt, that he was born yesterday because I wouldn't have been able to meet him until at earliest Sunday if he wasn't born yesterday. Mike and I spent a few hours at the hospital visiting with mom, Grammie and baby. Liam sadly wasn't allowed in that area of the hospital but they were able to sneak him in for a bit to meet his new brother. Everyone is doing extremely well. Congrats to Larry and Tammy on their new addition!!!

Engagement Party

We've officially had our first wedding event and it went perfectly if you ask me. Mike's parents and sisters did an amazing job of hosting and all the little details they incorporated were perfection. Not that I wasn't excited before about the wedding, but I'm even more excited now! We have the best family and friends in the entire world to help us celebrate this amazing time in our lives. Sorry to all of you that we couldn't invite. But don't worry...we'll be celebrating for many months to come :0) Yay for weddings!!!

New Fish Tank

For those of you who didn't know, our lizard Randal passed away a few weeks ago. He had been sick for a while and I guess it was just his time. He lived a long lizard life so I'm trying not to be too sad about it.

It was a little sad looking at the empty spot where his cage was so we filled it back up with a new fresh water fish tank. Mike and I have decided no more salt water tanks for a long time (expect the one we still have upstairs in our bedroom). They are just too expensive and hard to up keep! Anyways, here are some pictures of the new tank... its a work in progress.

Offical End of Summer

This past Friday was the last concert in the square for the year. We are lucky to live in a city that extends the summer concerts and events so far out in the year, so I can't complain too much. The Michael Jackson Tribute band, Neverland, ended the summer right with the biggest and best turnout yet! A few of our friends got to the square super early (3ish) to save a spot for us, and thank God they did! I can not even begin to tell you how many people were at the square. The designated dance area was so packed that people were dancing in the isle ways. Everyone had a blast so we continued the night after with some pizza and beer. I'm already excited for next summer to start!!!

Just a taste of how many people were there - look in the background! This was before the show!

My cousin Mandy and I - she came down from the city to hang out :)

We also had our last wedding of the year this past Saturday. It was a fairly small wedding of 80 or less people, which made it very nice and intimate. The bride and groom both looked so unbelievably happy through it all and we were very honored to be a part of it. I have to say though, I could not be more excited that the next wedding we attend will be our own! Yay!!!!

Oktoberfest!!!

Boy am I tired! Due to everyone's busy schedules, and the buy one get one free tickets, we all decided that it would be a good idea to go to this years SF Oktoberfest yesterday (Sunday). We hopped on the train and got up to San Francisco before the doors even opened to the festivities (11am). After not too long of a wait we were inside Pier 48 with liters of beers in hand. Since we were some of the first people inside we grabbed a prime table outside close to the beer and bathrooms. Luckily the wind was no where near as bad as it was on Saturday night and we had perfect weather all day.

Through out the day we gathered a pretty impressive group of people. Some of our friends from Sacramento came down for the weekend, we ran into some new friends we had met at Boys II Men and ran into some long lost high school friends we hadn't seen probably since graduation. Multiple liters of beer down in each of our belly's our group slowly started to break apart and head for home, on the train of course! Once we got home a group of us regathered at Mike and my house for beer soaking up pizza and water. It was a very fun and exciting day and even though I wish I could have stayed in bed for a few more hours this morning, I wouldn't change a thing!
Yup, Vicky is wearing her German Beer Girl outfit from Germany!!!
