My 28th Birthday Bash

Mike and my favorite local reggae band, Native Elements, apparently makes a point to play every year in Belmont on my birthday weekend :0) Perfectly fine with me! Keeps me trying to figure out what to do for my birthday nice and simple! We had a great turn out of wonderful friends and as usual, I had an amazing time (as you can tell by my cheesy smile!).

Thanksgivings (yes, multiple!)

We sure have had our turkey fill this year! But wouldn't have had it any other way! We actually started Thanksgiving off a few weeks ago at Larry and Tammy's. I guess we all wanted to warm up our stomachs for the real deal! The night before Thanksgiving some girl friends and I went out in San Carlos (it's tradition) in hopes to run into some old friends. We decided not to go to the normal spots but still had a great time and ran into a good group of old friends.
Actual Thanksgiving was great with a super delicious slow roasted turkey at Aunt Lex and Uncle Mike's house.
The next day we hosted the 4th annual friendsgiving. Mike and I were both shocked at how little we actually had to do. Every one's side dishes were amazing and we stuffed ourselves silly. After dinner we all went upstairs to relax and play a little Rock-band. It was a really really great day.
The next morning we jumped in the car and headed to Brandi and Anthony's for Friendsgiving number 2. We were so excited that the Ellsmore's were down from Humboldt and couldn't wait to play with the girls. Jen and Travis made it just in time for dinner and we all had a great time catching up. The kids were adorable, as always, and watching them open their early Christmas gifts was priceless. At the end of the night we got the three of them in the bath, which they seemed to love!
We ended up driving home that night to take care of our sick puppy who decided to eat some turkey while we were asleep late Friday night. We held off on the emergency vet and took her in Monday. She ended up having pancreatitis and ended up needing lots of meds and 2 days at the vet. The picture below is after day one of the vet. They gave her a pain killer and she was so drugged out she couldn't even stand up! Poor baby girl - she's almost back to herself now :)
This Video is of Scott and Gavin mimicking each other. they were doing this forever, but of course Gavin got distracted the second we got out the camera!

Bath time fun!!!

And more bath time!!

Vegas Baby!!!

Me and my two V's (Victoria and Vicky) decided that it was time we jump ship and head to Vegas for the weekend. Vicky and I tend to have withdraws if we go any more than a year apart, and Victoria hadn't been since she was 11. We booked the trip what feels like a year ago, but as usual it came and went quicker than I can blink. We stayed at the Monte Carlo, which also happens to be the same hotel some of Victoria's friends were staying at. We ended up hanging out with them all weekend and had an absolute blast! They were up for anything and made great Vegas exploring partners. We were lucky enough to have great weather part of Saturday and lounged by the pool. I have a new favorite night club, even though every time I go I feel like I find a new favorite :) This one has a huge outdoor patio that no one really uses with its own bar. I get way too hot in clubs and this made it perfect to dance and not leave looking like a drowned rat! Our flight home wasn't until 8:30pm Monday night, which ended up being the only downside to the trip. After staying out until at least 4am three nights in a row we were in need of sleep more than I can even begin to explain. Once we got to the airport we felt better and once we got home and got a good nights sleep...we are ready to go back! Gotta love Vegas!
Night one - Coyote Ugly
Walking down the strip we ran into Randy - I know him from High School & Victoria knows him from softball! Small World!!!
Night Two - Christian Audigier Night Club (Ed Hardy)
Our Vegas Partners in Crime - Minus one
Night Three - Suppose to take it easy & ended up at numerous bars and in another club at the MGM

SUMO!!!

Mike turned 30 on Thursday and to celebrate the milestone I rented sumo suits and giant boxing gloves for his party so he could act like a kid for the day. Everyone seemed to have a complete blast playing with the suits or just watching those of us who did put them on. Thanks to my parents for letting us take over their house and to everyone for helping out with food and drinks. Mike REALLY had a great time!!!

Halloween Weekend

Friday night some of the girls and I went up to the city to celebrate multiple friends birthday's. I don't get to the city as often as I like so it's nice when people plan events there. We had dinner at this amazing restaurant called Mexico DF and then went out to a small lounge where we had table service. It was mostly just our group in the lounge so it was even more perfect than we could have imagined. It was a great time for sure!

Us and Birthday girl Lylliam

I was having party throwing withdraws so after promising Mike I wouldn't go crazy and I would let my friends help, we hosted the second annual Halloween bash at our house. We had a smaller crowd than normal, but it was a good thing in our opinion. We actually got to go around and talk to all of our guests instead of running around like crazy people. I think that everyone had a great time, as did we, and I'm sure we'll be hosting the 3rd annual next year. Next....Mike's big 3 0!!!

Logan is here!!!

Tammy was suppose to be induced today but Logan decided he wanted out on his own. Logan (waiting on a middle name) Dirksen was born 10/29/09 at 3:13pm at Peninsula Hospital in Burlingame. He weighed in at a healthy 7 pounds 9 oz and was 19.25 inches long. He is absolutely perfect!!! I'm actually really happy, as a selfish Aunt, that he was born yesterday because I wouldn't have been able to meet him until at earliest Sunday if he wasn't born yesterday. Mike and I spent a few hours at the hospital visiting with mom, Grammie and baby. Liam sadly wasn't allowed in that area of the hospital but they were able to sneak him in for a bit to meet his new brother. Everyone is doing extremely well. Congrats to Larry and Tammy on their new addition!!!

Engagement Party

We've officially had our first wedding event and it went perfectly if you ask me. Mike's parents and sisters did an amazing job of hosting and all the little details they incorporated were perfection. Not that I wasn't excited before about the wedding, but I'm even more excited now! We have the best family and friends in the entire world to help us celebrate this amazing time in our lives. Sorry to all of you that we couldn't invite. But don't worry...we'll be celebrating for many months to come :0) Yay for weddings!!!
