Mother's Day 2017

This years Mother's Day was beyond perfect (although it pretty much always has been).  Our really good family friend, Jan, hosted another amazing brunch for the ladies.  She is an incredible cook and even better hostess.  I love these women so much and we are so lucky to have them in our lives, even when we only see them a few times a year.

I hung out so long that Charlie was already down for a nap when I got home.  I decided to pop the Giants came on the radio, throw on a swim suite and lay out in the backyard.  I may or may not have snoozed for a bit :)  Kendall came out and joined me at some point but was very respectful of my quiet.  We ended up hanging in the yard the rest of the night, including dinner outside.  It was peaceful and perfect and I loved every minute!

I love my "family"
Jan gave her daughter-in-laws a ancestry kit and made them do it right then and there.  We laughed non-stop for about 20 minutes watching them trying to fill the tube with spit.
Sisters!  (and also Carlmont alumni!)
My Aunt, Mom and Grandma :)
I was there too!

Man I love these goofballs!

4H Farm Visit

Kendall joined 4H this year and the club is really ramping up for fair.  Kendall isn't doing an animal project yet, but loves getting to see what all the older kids are up to.  We got invited to visit the farm where some of the club's animals are kept and we are all so glad we went.  The kids do EVERYTHING themselves.  Clean, fed, care for, training... it is all done by the club members.  It's so neat to see their love for the animals and how important proper care is.

The animals were all so sweet and the kids had a blast running around with them.  I think Kendall is really excited to be old enough for a pig, goat or sheep but until then we'll see what she chooses next year (rabbits would make the most sense since we already have them). Charlie said he can't wait to turn 5 and join the club as well :)

The farm houses the goats and pigs. The sheep, Rabbit's and chickens are all housed at different club members homes.

They are way too cute!
By the way - Charlie was wearing my brother's old cowboy boots :) Adorable!

Touch-a-truck

Whoops!  I missed posting about our fun day at the Open Gate touch-a-truck event!  It was a random HOT day but it didn't stop the fun.  Charlie was extra excited to see all the trucks (especially the fire engine but sadly it only made a quick appearance) but as soon as we got closer to them, and kids were honking the very loud horns like crazy, he quickly retreated to my arms.  He warmed back up eventually but he really wasn't a fan of the loud beeps and honks.  This was seriously such a fun event and I can't believe we haven't made it in years past!  See you again next year touch-a-truck!

We were getting yelled at to get the kids out of the back of this truck so Kendall wouldn't look for a picture. Parents of the year!
We found Tyler :)
Cool down break with some Jamba Juice
They set up a really cool race track and "car wash" with what seemed like a billion push cars and box cars for all the kids to play in. They were in heaven!
