Sad News

It's killing me to even write this post, but yesterday we very suddenly had to put our kitty Tweak to sleep. He was still youngish for a cat (about 12) so I was not prepared for this moment at all yet. We knew he had a heart mummer but since there was nothing we could really do to fix it, and plenty of animals and people live with heart mummers all their lives, we just kept a watchful eye on him over the years.

Yesterday while I was home for lunch Tweak was sitting with me like he always does and suddenly fell over. He got up and ran upstairs a few minutes later and we found him on the bed panting. Hoping he just had a fur-ball or something I went back to work and Mike kept an eye on him for me. Maybe 15 minutes later Mike called me saying he didn't look too good and he wasn't moving his back legs. After rushing him to the vet we got the horrible news that he had thrown a blood clot that had now blocked the circulation to his rear and he was paralyzed. There isn't much they could have done even with a young cat and we knew what we had to do. I left work and meet Mike at the vet where we said our final goodbyes and held him as peacefully went to sleep. One of the worst things we have ever had to deal with to date.

It's amazing how much a pet really does become part of the family. It's going to take some big adjustment to him not being there. Hanna is already showing signs of slight depression wondering where her buddy is. We are very thankful that he did not have to suffer long though and he lived a great life and made us very happy. RIP Tweak! We love you very much!

Emily Jane Love

Yup, another baby has been born! Our niece was born Tuesday at 1:29pm. Stacy started to have contractions around 1am and waited for them to get as close as possible before heading to the hospital. She arrived at 12:30ish, water broke at 1:00 and baby was out by 1:30! I wish all labor could go like that. Emily weighed only 5lbs 1.9oz (only 1.5oz more than Olivia did) and was 18inches long. Tiny little thing! We didn't get to spend too much time with her since we drove down after work Tuesday but I'm sure I'll be getting many more pictures of her soon. She's a mini Liv!

Baby Bowen!

He's here! He's here!! It was about time I had another baby to brag about and fawn over :) This morning I got to experience the miracle, and misery, of birth with my oldest and greatest friend Karen. At 11:07am Evan Paul Bowen made his way into the world weighing in at 7lbs 12.9oz and 20 inches. He's perfect!! He cried for a second upon delivery and then didn't make a pep after getting put on moms chest to cuddle. Since I got to stay in the room during the delivery and for bonding time after I decided to sneak out when the Grandparents were finally allowed in the room around 12:30. I'm sure I'll be spending more than enough time with this little guy for the rest of his life. Congrats Karen and Jon!!!

Giants World Series Trophy

How lucky am I!? The trophy made a stop in my hometown, Redwood City, this afternoon and I got lucky enough to get a picture with it!! I wasn't planning on going, since I knew I would have to take almost a full day off of work to get in line early enough, but my amazing friend Victoria braved the bad weather and crowds and got in line at noon (pictures started at 3:30). I went to just bring her lunch and keep her company on my lunch hour when the trophy showed up and I couldn't stand to leave. She was only 20-30 people into the line so the people around her convinced me to hop the fence and just stay a little while longer. They only take pictures with the professional camera but we got lucky and our friend Lucas took a side view picture for us. I'll be sure to post the professional one once we get it :) Go Giants!!!

It has arrived!!!
So amazing!!
Typical us picture (Vik let me steal her jacket since I was just in my work clothes)

I can't wait for the head-on shot!

Weekend with the Sigona's & Jones'

This weekend I headed up to Fair Oaks to spend some much needed time with my brother and in-laws. I was terrified that the second I pulled up to their house I would get a call from Karen saying she was in labor but baby Bowen (and baby Love) stayed put :0) I had a GREAT weekend! The weather was amazing, Lacey and I got to compare our growing belly's, I got to hear all about Disneyland and, of course, got lots and lots of Gavin and Lexi time. Those kids make me so happy it hurts! Hopefully I'll be able to get as many weekend trips up there before I pop.

My BFF and Me

Last night Karen treated Cary, Vicky and me to pedicures as a thank you for hosting her baby shower. It's most likely going to be Karen's last "big" trip out before baby comes (she's due the 18th and already dilated 2cm). After we got pampered we went back to the house for pizza and girl time. Cary broke out her camera to catch a few pictures of Karen and my belly's before she pops. I always dreamed about being pregnant at the same time as my friends so I'm so glad she documented this for us. It won't be long before baby boy Bowen is here!!

Hard to believe the next time I see her this baby will be coming out!
Belly's :D

Stacy's Sprinkle

Saturday I put together, with help of Katie and Michelle, a little in house tea party in honor of Stacy's soon to be born little girl. When our friend Michelle was pregnant with Brewer we did a tea party for her and loved it so much I thought it would be great for Stacy. I ordered the same individual teapots for the guests to use that day as well as take home as their favor. Katie and I made 6 different types of tea sandwiches, mini quiche, scones and fruit salad and Michelle brought these to die for mini bunt cakes (from some bakery in the San Jose area). It was a gorgeous day and everyone seemed to have a really good time. Olivia was so cute opening gifts for her little sister. She is SO excited for the baby's arrival and is going to make a great big sister :)

Half Way Point!

I am 20 weeks pregnant today :) The first few months seemed to crawl by but lately time is flying. From what I'm told the next 20 weeks go even quicker (scary!). We had our monthly check up yesterday and all is going well. The baby is the perfect size for my estimated due date and has a really strong heart beat. I've only gained 4lbs thus far, which I'm sure will rapidly increase in the months to come. Little peanut is VERY active and I am loving feeling the movement. It's just light pushes and rubs but I know it's my little baby in there moving around :) It's the best feeling in the world! I can't wait for the movements to get bigger so Mike can feel from the outside.

We have mostly finished our registry and look forward to getting the room fully put together. I have been busy painting some subtle detail work on the baby's room walls (I'll post pictures soon). It's been very relaxing for me to do and I'm glad I decided to do it now since I have the energy at the moment. Hopefully we'll have the new carpet in by the end of this month so we can get the big furniture and have even less to worry about the closer it gets to my due date :)
I swear I look bigger than this in person!
Prego pants leave big indents haha!
