First Day of 4th and 1st Grades
Kendall's 9th Birthday
Kendall's 9th birthday wasn't what she had originally hoped for, but I think she still managed to have a fantastic day. No group slumber party, or horse back riding, or shopping trip to Target. But she had all her favorite foods, a few drive by birthday visits (we went to them) and surprise mail. She ended the day with a zoom gathering with the family where she opened her gifts and even shed some tears of joy (so my kid).
Kendall is such an incredible sole. She's extremely selfless and caring and loving. She is silly and creative and smart. She writes the best stories and songs. She LOVES music. All kinds! She can sing every word to Elvis' In the Ghetto all the way down to High School Musical Sound Tracks. She's doing really well with distanced learning despite really missing in person interactions. She seems to make the best of most situations with minimal complaints (most of the time) and can still talk anyone's ear off if they are willing to listen. She still loves animals but has really fallen in love with horses. Watching her dive into research on things she is interested in is a joy to watch. She loves history and learning about landmarks. She is a reading machine, sometimes staying up past my bed time blowing through books. We adore her and are so lucky to get to watch her grown into an even more special person every day.
Stats around her birthday back in June - 4 Feet 8.75 inches (97%) and 75 pounds (82%). Tall and thin like her daddy! And growing like a weed every day.

Charlie's 6th Birthday
My goodness I adore this boy. Yes, I know how time works but I really can't believe our baby is now 6. In some regards he still seems to small and "baby" like but I think that is just me trying to cling on to that. He is so incredibly smart and creative. The kid can look at something, take it apart in seconds and reassembled it back together perfectly. He kicks our butt's in memory more often than not and can remember every book he reads, or cheats for video games, after only one go around. He's extremely silly, extremely stubborn, and oh so loving. He is a mama's boy but he also loves spending time with his Daddy - especially when helping him with projects in the garage. He loves bugging his big sister but he also can't get enough of her. His cousin Gavin is his idol, especially now that he's old enough to play Minecraft with him. He runs the second we try and stick a facetime device in his face (poor Grandparents!) but he NEVER STOPS TALKING when we are around. And I mean NEVER. At least when he can see us. We will walk out of the room and he stops but the second he catches one of us out of the corner of his eye the noise starts up again. I swear he's taller every morning when he wakes up but he's still our little feather weight. Since well checks are cancelled these days I don't have official stats, but I finally ordered a scale (ugh) and below are his numbers from the first day of school. He's our amazing not so little boy and we are so lucky he is ours!!
Charlie at 6 years 2 months - 42 pounds (24%) and 3' 10.25" (52%)
Charlie at 5 - 37 pounds (25%) and 3' 9.75" (50%)
