Kendall's 9th birthday wasn't what she had originally hoped for, but I think she still managed to have a fantastic day. No group slumber party, or horse back riding, or shopping trip to Target. But she had all her favorite foods, a few drive by birthday visits (we went to them) and surprise mail. She ended the day with a zoom gathering with the family where she opened her gifts and even shed some tears of joy (so my kid).
Kendall is such an incredible sole. She's extremely selfless and caring and loving. She is silly and creative and smart. She writes the best stories and songs. She LOVES music. All kinds! She can sing every word to Elvis' In the Ghetto all the way down to High School Musical Sound Tracks. She's doing really well with distanced learning despite really missing in person interactions. She seems to make the best of most situations with minimal complaints (most of the time) and can still talk anyone's ear off if they are willing to listen. She still loves animals but has really fallen in love with horses. Watching her dive into research on things she is interested in is a joy to watch. She loves history and learning about landmarks. She is a reading machine, sometimes staying up past my bed time blowing through books. We adore her and are so lucky to get to watch her grown into an even more special person every day.
Stats around her birthday back in June - 4 Feet 8.75 inches (97%) and 75 pounds (82%). Tall and thin like her daddy! And growing like a weed every day.
