Jameson's Birthday Sloshball/Kickball Game

Saturday we had the 2nd annual slosh-ball/kickball game in honor of Lucas' brother Jameson's birthday. In short it's a kickball game where everyone must keep a beer in their hands at all times. There are other rules involved but I'm not even sure I understand them. We started the day off at Cary and Lucas's house (Carcus for short) because the weather was being freakish. Rainy but sunny all at the same time. I think around 3 we finally made it to the park (suppose to start at 1). Michelle and I got to be team captains since we were benched for oblivious reasons. It was a ton of fun to watch them play and we had a good time hanging out.

Jameson apparently was done playing for the day
After the game we all went back to the Carcus house to eat some yummy pulled pork and other goodies. Some of us decided to head home to take a quick nap or shower before we headed back to the Carcus house and then head to watch the Hangover 2. It's been a long time since I've seen a movie on opening weekend and forgot how crazy it gets! We were shooting for the 9:20 show but ended up making it into the 9:45 one instead. We actually got lucky because we would have never found seats together in the earlier showing. The hour wait in the theater flew by and the movie was a lot better than I thought it would be. Stupid funny of course, but I think they did a good job of not trying to go too far above the first one. All and all great day and I slept like a baby that night :)

Family Baby Shower

For some reason I can't save pictures off of the site Auntie Reen uploaded them to, but I managed to get some good ones from Auntie Lex's batch.

My two incredible aunts hosted an amazing, and gigantic, shower for me 2 weekends ago. I had a great time catching up with everyone and we got so much stuff that it pretty much wiped out our registry! We only really had to go buy one thing that we needed before baby arrives. Even though the highlight of the shower was seeing all my family and family friends, I REALLY enjoyed hanging out with my sister-in-laws, aunts, uncles, parents, cousin and the kidos after. It was such a great way to unwind and relax after the craziness of the day. Mike and I went through everything that night, washed everything that needed to be washed and then got it all put away Sunday morning. We are 100% ready for baby - after the 9th when everyone returns from the cruise! lol

Rohrbach Baby Shower

For me, one of the hardest parts of being the honored guest at an event is not taking pictures myself. I'm a little crazy when it comes to uploading pictures from my camera the day after an event and posting them on facebook, here and uploading them to snapfish or shutterfly. I'm sure that will change once the little ones comes though :) Stacy did a GREAT job of taking pictures at the Rohrbach shower her and Cheri threw for me and I finally had time to save them off shutterfly so I could post them on here.

The Rohrbach women planned the most adorable Mickey/Minnie themed shower for me! They set up a onesie station, we had a delicious lunch and played a few fun games. One of the games was guess how big my tummy is and Cheri's string was less than an inch off and my moms was maybe a centimeter off! Do my mom's know me or what!? I kept the string and have had fun wrapping it back around myself each week to see how much I've grown :) Here are some pictures so you can see for yourself how cute everything was.

34 Weeks and Growing!

I had my re-check up with the mid-wife today and just as we suspected, the student measured me wrong at my 28 week appointment. We for sure know she measured wrong because she did it again today! The student was the one to check me out first and then the midwife jumped in and re-measured. After moving the baby around a bit she says that I'm pretty much right on 34cm. I knew I had gotten bigger!! Baby and I are both doing great and go back in 2 weeks for the next appointment. Head is still down and will hopefully be staying that way (you hear that baby!?) . The midwife told me that if I keep at the same pace she is guessing the baby will be about 6.5-7 pounds (which is of course just a shot in the dark).

Proof that I've grown in the past 2 weeks....

34 weeks (taken this morning) and rounding out!

One Year Anniversary

Yup, it's already been a year! Crazy right? Mike had to work on Saturday so I got to be lazy and hang out with some girlfriends during the day but once Mike got home it was celebration time! We watched a movie at home then headed to a late dinner at Town, one of my favorite (but way to expensive to go all the time) spots. We had a delicious dinner and our super cute waitress even gave us free dessert as a congratulations. We took it to go since we had some wedding cake to dig into (plus it was bread pudding which I know my mom loves so I passed it along to her). Once we digested a little bit from dinner we cut into our top layer of wedding cake and shared a slice. It was surprisingly pretty good for being frozen for the past year!

Following tradition and eating our cake 1 year later
It's very hard to take a self portrait of us cutting the cake with this belly in the way :)
Sunday morning we headed up to Sonoma/Santa Rosa area to start our actual celebration. I had booked a trip to Safari West for us but thought it would be a great idea to stop at a couple breweries for Mike along the way. We had an appetizer and Mike had some beer at Ale Works before it was time to head on our real adventure. Safari West was better than I could have imagined! Everyone should go! It's a 3-3.5 hour long animal tour with a little bit of walking and a lot of driving around and into animal enclosures. We got to sit on the top of the truck the full trip :) My favorite part was the Giraffes since one came RIGHT up to us. He was raised at the SF zoo and loves people so he was looking to get some love - even rubbed his head against our driver as she got out to open one of the enclosures. Mike and I could have so easily pet him but they frown upon that. We went into 3 different enclosures and learned so much about all these amazing animals. I was a little concerned about the bumpiness of the ride for my belly but it really wasn't bad at all. After we left our Safari we headed back into town and had dinner at the Russian River Brewery. Super yummy pizza and Mike enjoyed more beer :)
Here comes Dozer (as in Bulldozer) to say hello to us
No zoom needed! This is how close he got!
Momma and "baby"
A different kind of giraffe (we were inside their enclosure)
Husband and Wife Rinos!
These cattle had the largest horns! They looked like they could hardly hold their heads up
Pregnant Zebra belly! There were 2 ready to pop.
This huge male was not happy to see us when we came in his enclosure. Apparently if one of these guys gets angry and charges, they all will! So we hung out for a while until he passed and went back to his heard.
These guys remind me of The Lion King. Just picture hundreds of them running down the hillside (the super sad part when Mufasa dies). Mike got good video of them fighting each other that I'll try and post below.
Us at the end of the tour
And then walking out we saw these adorable guys
Thank you for all the well wishes and congratulations we got over the weekend! We've had a GREAT year and I have a feeling this one will be even better :)

Ok I left the video uploading since 4 yesterday and it's not working, so oh well!
