Fishy Number Two

Charlie has been rocking it at swim lessons!  Looks like he's going to be a fishy just like his big sister!

First time off the diving board
Tail end of some pop-ups
Roll overs

And more pop-ups!

More School Fun

Sports Day! It's scary that Kendall is wearing both my shirt and jacket, and they really aren't all that big on her
Giant's crew!
Sadly I didn't get the best pictures, but crazy hair day and Kendall really wanted dinosaurs in her hair for some reason. So, I had her a volcano...
Kendall was awarded a caring award at school :)
It was also, dress like your favorite movie character day (or something?)
PJ Day!
And Charlie got to get in o the fun with his school too
Another crazy hair day. Actually, it was crazy hat day. I did learn that the facebook admin posted crazy hair and later changed it to hat so I didn't feel too terrible when we got to school and Kendall was the only one with crazy hair!

End of our 4H Projects

4H season is almost over and we have officially wrapped up the gardening and beginning arts and crafts projects.  My dad and I had a great time leading this year and hopefully the kids did too!!

March art's project was string art. Sadly, this is the only picture I remembered to take since we were busy supervising the hammers and nails...
Lesson recap with "Nonno"
Blind feel and then taste test of some garden produce!
April wooden egg decorating
And GIANT broccoli harvesting! Swiss Chard as well (onions and favas weren't ready yet)
And ended the season with a field-trip to Hidden Villa

Kendall's Variety Show Performance

Roosevelt held their first Variety Show, thanks to a very devoted parent willing to tackle the task, and a very supportive principal that has been all about all the extra circulars the PTA has thrown at her.  Next year the school may try and tackle a play, but for now this was perfection!  The kids were really excited about preforming so they had no trouble filling the spots for the show.  I was pretty blown away that Kendall said she wanted to sing A Million Dreams from The Greatest Showman, since she has been insanely shy about doing anything performance related in front of people these days. She was really into it and asked her friend Brody if he wanted to sing with her in the show.  After their first rehearsal they added in friend Naomi and decided that they wanted to sing acapella :) . They did SO amazing and I can't get over how great their timing was together, especially considering they didn't get to practice too much together before the show.

All of the kids that preformed blew me away!  I got to help wrangle kids backstage and snuck a peak at their performances from behind the curtain.  Most were pretty nervous before stepping out on stage but you would have never known it once they were out there. Their creativity and bravery was a joy to watch. My face literally hurt from smiling watching them. I may have even shed some tears watching a few of them, especially Kendall's buddy Joey who brought the house down with his tap performance. Such a fun night for all and I'm so proud of all these kids!!

Kendall's trio of singers
I love them!!!
Hooray Roosevelt!

Girls Truckee Weekend

A few of the girls and I decided to head up to Truckee for a quick weekend get away.  I'm not loving my track record of only seeing the snow every other year, and this trip exceeded all expectations since I got to cross country ski for the first time ever!  It was my first time on ski's in general. I've only been snow boarding once, and that was probably 14+ years ago, so I'm extra thankful these girls were game to get out there with me!  But I'm getting ahead of myself. We drove up after work on a Friday and despite some terrible traffic (like ALL the accidents possible) it was a fun trip since I got lots of catch up time with Michelle and Vicky. Sarah and Alicia even had dinner ready for us when we got there at probably 11pm! We had a late night just chatting the night away before turning in. We had a nice relaxing morning before heading over to the resort for our fun day of skiing.  It was the most beautiful day and as much as we were enjoying soaking up the sun, we decided to head back to the house for our own happy hour before heading downtown for dinner and forced drinks out. Yes, we are old and forced ourselves to go to one bar before retreating back to our yoga pants and comfy couches :) . After another lazy, slow moving breakfast we packed up and hit the road home.  I loved every minute of this mini getaway and I really look forward to doing it again!!

And the second story window! SO much snow!
