I beilive I can fly!

This past Sunday Mike and I went to Trapeze Arts in Oakland to do a little training before we run off with the circus. Well...maybe not but it's fun to pretend.

Mike's sister Stacy introduced me to the flying trapeze over 2 years ago and we've been dying to go back ever since. Since she HAD to go get pregnant with Olivia (laugh) we had to wait. All she wanted for her birthday this year was to go back to Trapeze Arts and learn a new trick. So that we did. Only Stacy, Vicky, Stacy's friend Michelle and I actually did the trapeze but we had our fan club watching below (Mike's whole family) and taking tons of pictures and video.

The scariest part of the trapeze is climbing up the super tall, narrow ladder unharnessed then having to climb up onto the platform to await your jump. I get butterflies just thinking about it. Once the person in front of you does their jump there is no going back. You stand of the edge of the platform, get harnessed in at the waist, grab onto the bar with one hand while pushing your hips over the edge, grab the bar with your other hand and wait for the "READY....OUUP!". This is when you jump and fly effortlessly through the air, tucking your knees around the bar, flying upside down and then flipping off the bar or being caught by another instructor. It's addicting really. I highly recommend all of you try it sometime, and take me along with you!

Here is a few pictures of our jumps. If you want to check out the videos here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/user/stacyjr1015
You can watch me almost chicken out on my first jump, haha!
