Fun Weekend #4

Our 4th Annual fun weekend came and went too quickly as usual. We were lucky to have Jennie and Matt host the trip this year at their beautiful HUGE new house in Lincoln. We spent all day Friday in the pool before heading inside for a delicious pasta dinner and some fun games.

Saturday we went rafting (more like floating) down the river right off Sunrise by Branthony's house. Since we had 15 people to get out of the house we missed our reservation by 6 minutes and they wouldn't let us cut the line. There were easily 200 people waiting for rafts! We decided to buy our own at the extra cost of $5 a person, that way we didn't have to wait and we'd have them for all future fun weekends. We came prepared with plenty of food, beer and water since it took us around 4 hours to get down the river. It was tons of fun! The most bizarre part of the day was at the end of the float there were woman asking for cans. We had already collected a giant bag full and when we went to hand one of the ladies the bag, another one came out of nowhere and they started to fight it out! They spoke NO English and we were all screaming at them to get away and cut it out. This went on for about 5 minutes before the guys jumped out of the rafts and pulled them away as we re-collected all the cans. It was INSANE!! Crazy people!

We headed back to the house and some of us hopped right back into the pool while others napped. We had another delish dinner of BBQ tri-tip, chicken, roasted potatoes and corn. We ended the night with a 2 hour long dance party (sorry to those who were trying to sleep)!

Mandy's VERY swollen foot (she got landed on by one of the guys jumping back into the raft), my "broken" 2nd to little toe and John's "broken" big toe. I don't think either of us actually broke our toes since we can both bend them, but we both did an excellent job stubbing them on Friday night (BTW I was 100% sober!) I'm still wearing flip flops to work because shoes hurt too much!

Sunday we decided to extend the weekend as much as possible and had another full day in the pool. We ordered pizza (since we devoured all the food we had bought for the weekend) and played fun pool games to win prizes that Mandy had bought for us. I forgot to mention that she also put together a goodie bag for each of us with a personalized "fun weekend 4" cozies and a few other things. She is amazing like that! We headed back home around 5:30 Sunday night, even though we all debated about calling in sick and staying an extra day :)

A big huge thanks to Mandy for planning yet another super dooper crazy fun fun weekend for us all and to Matt and Jennie for letting us take over their house. We'll see if it works out, but we are going to try and make this a twice yearly thing with a winter fun weekend! Yay!
