GT's 30th Birthday Weekend

Two weekends ago we spent the entire weekend celebrating our friend GT's 30th birthday. We started off at Devils Canyon Brewery on Friday for their monthly "beer Friday" event. I even had my 2 sister in laws to be join in the fun. We ended up at a local bar since it was raining and cold and finished the night with a super cheesy band and cheap drinks.

Saturday morning we all met up at GT & Michelle's house for a limo ride over to the Oakland Winter Brewfest. GT is an avid beer brewer so it was right up his alley. There were tons of good beers and the best part was they allowed you to use half your ticket for half a glass of beer (9oz glasses). It was nice because we were able to sample way more beers for less money! There was also a home brewer section which was completely free. We hung out for a few hours until the limo picked us up to take us back home. We ended up going to dinner, going to the beer garden and Vicky, Victoria and I ended up at the Carlos Club. What a long, but fun, day!!

Sunday we re-gathered at GT's parents house for a mac-and-cheese cook off. There were 9 entries and we each got to vote for our favorite transitional mac, most creative mac and best of show mac. To top off all this mac & cheese they also provided a full meal to eat after! I didn't need to eat for a week after that day! There was a taste off for most creative after there was a voting tie and then they announced all three winners. Birthday boy GT took home the most unique award, Cary & Lucas took home the most traditional and I took home the best of show! Yay me!!! It was nice to end the weekend on such a high :0)
