Family Picnic

Aunt Noreen and Uncle Dave put on this years family reunion/picnic and did an amazing job.  We were missing more of the cousin's this year due to baseball, vacations and prior obligations but I still think there was a pretty great turn out.  I was extra excited that Charlie would get to meet lots of his extended family :)  It was a gorgeous day filled with lots of catching up, game playing, eating and laughing.  I especially loved watching the next generation of kids playing together.  It brings back so many memories of my cousins and me having the time of our lives when we got to see each other the rare few times a year.

My parents were in charge of games this year.  My dad had a great game for the little ones.  They had to take off their shoes and choose a crazy hat.  Their shoes were placed at one tree and the hats at another.  They had to run to the first tree, put on their shoes then run to the second tree, put on their hat they picked out then run back to my dad.  We were all a little shocked at how well they did!
New walker :)
Ready. Set. Go!
The three 3 year olds all put their shoes on the wrong feet :)
It's ok Joseph - you'll catch up next year!
Kendall and Lilliana in the lead!
and Kendall for the win!
I think most of these hats are from MY senior grad night!  Yikes...
Baby Danny will be chasing after other littles next year
Traditional egg toss
They did this almost the entire time until a fluke drop broke their egg
Good try Gavin!
Good job Stephanie!
Game number 2 was a water relay (don't worry, we used TINY amounts of water).  Fill the sponge with water at one end, squeeze the water into a cup at the other. Whoever reaches the fill line first wins.
So great that Anthony got home from a fire a few days before and was actually able to join us this year!  Charlie was having a very silly conversation with his Uncle :)
I was also very happy Sofia came for a visit!
Great job planning Auntie Reen!
Kendall's new best friend - Cousin Margret
Wouldn't be a picnic without some Pinochle
