This year we were somehow talked into doing the food booth for downtown Redwood City's Oktoberfest. The pitch was hard to turn down since Redwood City took care of providing all the food, cooking equipment, etc. All we had to do was show up, serve some food and drink beer! Well, not exactly. I don't think any of us could imagine just how busy it would be! There were 4 sessions - Friday night, Saturday day, Saturday night and Sunday day. Our loyal team of Capn' Mikes crew signed up for shifts - and my shifts weren't until Saturday night and Sunday. The kids and I popped downtown to say hello and bring some last minute supplies and when we got there it was mind blowing how long the line was for food already! Thank goodness our kids are rock-stars because there was no way I was leaving the crew high and dry without an extra set of hands. Kendall even was a huge help! Luckily, as all 2nd+ days go, the rest of the weekend ran much smoother and there was actually some time for beer drinking and socializing. All in all, a super fun weekend!
Friday night crew minus the kids and me - think this was the only picture taken!
