Not Dunsmuir trip

I'm way late on my post about our weekend trip to Twain Harte, but hopefully most of you already saw the pictures on Brandi's blog :)  Since we weren't sure how the new baby (pre-baby) would do on the long trip to Dunsmuir, we decided to pick a closer location for this years little family get away.  It was also wishful thinking that Anthony would be more likely to join us, but he was away at fires as usual so it didn't matter.  My parents found us an awesome rental house with plenty of space and our very own pet deer for the weekend.  Ok, the deer were just a bonus.  Now that the kids are older they really occupied each other well so us adults even got some relaxing time in.  Mike was only able to join us Friday night through Sunday because of work, but we still had a wonderful time all together.  Seems like a wonderful substitute to our normal stomping ground when needed :)

We took the kids to a small fishing pond, since we knew they are still too young to enjoy "real" fishing for longer than 3 minutes.  Boy did they love catching their fish!
Nonno got all the poles ready and the kids took turns casting with him.
Kendall had a fish on within seconds!
She giggled the whole time she reeled it in
Yay Kendall!!
Petting her catch
Gav's turn
After a few lost fish, he caught a real keeper!
Lexi's turn.  She also had some hits and misses but did so well pulling her fish out once one stuck.
The kids ate their fish for dinner that night and really seemed to love it.  Kendall ate almost an entire trout to herself!

Some of our pets for the weekend.

My favorite part of Columbia - the candy store!
