Presidents Weekend Getaway

Last weekend we were invited up to Arnold with our neighbor/Kendall's school friend, as well as another school friend family.  They own the house and we were extra lucky because everyone is dog friendly so Rocky even go to join us.  We headed up after work on Friday and got the kids down pretty quickly since it was so late.  In the morning the dads and the big kids headed up to Bear Valley for some skiing/snowboarding and play time.  Sadly ski school was booked because of the holiday weekend but Kendall still has a blast playing with her friends in the fresh powder snow!  She's really excited to try skiing next time, especially after seeing Mitchell in action. The dads took turns getting in some runs and hanging out with the kids.  Us moms and the little ones hung at the house, went for a walk and pretty much just relaxed all day.  Once they got back we continued our relaxing evening at the house.  The kids played so well together and disappeared to play most of the weekend.  Sunday we all loaded into 2 cars - 6 adults, 7 kids and 3 dogs - to go play in the snow.  Charlie spent the first 20 minutes face planting on purpose to eat the snow and Rocky was in doggy heaven pouncing through the snow.  I see pictures of Dane's living it up in the snow and now I know why!  We don't trust him enough yet to let him off leash but hopefully next year we can let him really go nuts!  The storm started to come in again so we headed back to the house to thaw and get back to the whole relaxing thing.  We headed home Monday morning and got ahead of the crazy rain and traffic, which is always nice since we were able to get some things done at our house before the work/school week.  I loved getting away for 3 nights because we truly did get to relax and enjoy our mini get away :)

Clown car #1
He was SO excited for snow!  There is a foot by two foot pile of snow by the house on our walk and he went nuts for that. So when he saw the winter wonderland - he exploded!
