Labor Day Family Weekend

After months of non-stop go go go packed weekends we finally had a weekend with no plans - and better yet it was a three day weekend! As excited as I was to "do nothing", three days of hanging around the house would have killed me. So when we started to get emails that our fall wine club shipments were about to arrive, and they said we could pick them up early, it just made sense to use one of our days to head to Healdsburg.

We headed out somewhat early so we could grab breakfast once we were up there before hitting a few of our wine clubs. We have a hard time not going to Parish Cafe since it's amazing, but we got quite a few recommendations for a French Bakery called Costeaux so we decided to try it out. I'm SO happy we did because it was crazy delicious! After breakfast we headed Portalupi Wines where we had the entire place to ourselves. The kids loved the casual atmosphere and we had fun doing our tasting while playing games with them. After that we headed to Truett Hurst for a picnic lunch, kid run around time and goats! Thanks to Alicia we remembered to bring crackers and the kids couldn't wait to try holding the crackers in their mouths and having the goats take it from them. As we were packing up to leave we decided we weren't ready to end our day yet so we made one more stop at Kokomo. One of the reasons we love Healdsburg so much is because they are very family friendly and we never have to feel weird about brining the kids with us. In fact, a lot of places will give them special treatment and extra goodies and snacks! It was a fantastic family day trip and the kids were incredible. Thank goodness for our "free" weekend!
