Wine tasting for MIKE's birthday you ask? It definitely sounds more like a Trinette birthday celebration. But we had a bunch of wine shipments waiting to be picked up, and he does like wine as well as beer, so it felt like the perfect way to spend the day. It helped that a bunch of our incredible friends were able to join us.
We drug Sarah and Victoria with us to Folie a Deux in Napa before we headed to meet the rest of the group in Healdsburg. We had THREE shipments to pick up there and of course wanted to stock up on all the new goodness while we were there. Then we headed to meet the gang at Armida for a much needed picnic, some bocce ball and more wine! After a few hours we packed up and headed to Truett Hurst to pick up more shipments and sneak in more tastings. Then, while the group headed to our final spot- Route 128 (open until 7! Score!), our car stopped into Kokomo to pick up our final shipment and you guessed it, had a few more tastes. That was actually a bonus because they were closed for the Food and Wine Affair that was going on that weekend. Such a fun, relaxing day with great people and great wine. I can't wait to do it again soon! A HUGE thank you to Sarah who drove my car home since she is a trooper and joined us even though she is allergic to sulfates in wine :(
Folie a Deux (aka Napa Cellars aka Menage a Trois)
Not a bad view at Armida
Never too much food with our group!
The Wilder's started their vacation up North by spending part of the day with us, so I was lucky enough to get some Everett and Weston cuddles in. Sadly the the Food and Wine Affair Event that was going on up there didn't allow kids of any age and our second stop turned them away. Super LAME since the back room was open for regular tastings!!! Sorry guys :(
Truett Hurst in the back room to avoid the wine and food affair crowd
Sarah and Jameson headed up to meet us after Sarah got off work. Thanks guys!
Alicia needed new head shots for work, which turned into a silly head shot taking frenzy. My girl friends are so beautiful, don't you think>
Perfect Ad for OT :)
Last stop was Route 128 - which we LOVED! The wine was delicious, the owners were super friendly and accommodating and it had a low key dive bar atmosphere, which was right up our ally
This would be the hall from the day. Yikes! This did include 6 shipments that needed to be picked up (we have since switched one to auto-ship) and a case that we bought for other people. But I still think we'll be ok on wine for a while.
